The houses offered for sale are located on the Chalkidiki Peninsula, in Northern Greece, at the upper end of the third "finger" .
The well-known Mount Athos with its amazing monasteries is at the tip of this finger. A trip by boat all around this finger is a real adventure!
Olympiada is about 90km off Thessaloniki (Airport Chalkidiki).
A brand new highway, going from Thessaloniki straight through until Istanbul, brings you to Olympiada in a relaxed 60 minutes drive.

Olympiada is a little village with about 600 inhabitants.
Mass tourism is not known here, because there are only a few small - but very nice - hotels in the village. Nevertheless, the village is proud of its beautiful beach promenade with good restaurants and coffee bars.
There are also facilities like bakery, butcher, supermarket and of course a doctor in the village.
The harbour is very small and is located at the end of the promenade.
The houses which are offered for sale are going to be built directly by the sea (marked with a red "x" in the picture on the left).
Starting from there, it is only a 15 minutes walk to the famous archeological excavation "Stagira" which is located right above the harbour of Olympiada.
"Stagira" is the birth place of Aristoteles (approx. 300 b.C.), philosopher and teacher of Alexander the Great. |
Some more impressions of the village's promenade and the beach:
In this part of Greece, the coast is exceptionally beautiful!
A great number of idyllic sandy beaches - which may be reached by car or boat in a few minutes - are carved into a bizarre rocky coast line, which winds all the way down to Mount Athos, all around it and over to Sithonia (second finger).
The left picture was taken from the archeological excavation Stagira and allows the view down the coast to Mount Athos.
Behind the village, large areas of woodland arise to a height of 700m. Oak trees and chestnut are the predominant species of the forests. Lots of small gorges and springs can be explored using the woodworkers roads.
It is always nice and cool in the forests.
Olympiada is located in a region with favourable climatic conditions, where there is always a cool breeze from the sea during the day.
Towards the evening, the wind turns and brings cool wind from the mountains, which allows for a relaxed sleep even without air-condition!
